Workspaces and settings

A workspace holds a team’s templates, campaigns, images, integrations and people. Nothing is shared between workspaces.

Most companies need one workspace. Use more when the people or the brands are separate:

  • an agency with a workspace per client, so each client only sees their own emails;
  • a group with several brands that have separate teams and templates.

One person can belong to any number of workspaces, with a different role in each.

Open the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar and choose New workspace. Name it after your company, team or client.

You become its Owner, a 14-day free trial starts and the starter template is added, so you can create a campaign straight away.

Use the switcher at the top of the sidebar. The page you’re on reloads with the other workspace’s content. When you sign in, Modular Mail opens your first workspace.

Go to Settings in the sidebar.

  • Workspace name: Owners and Admins can rename the workspace.
  • AI help: turn AI on or off, and set your brand voice and restricted terms. See AI settings and brand voice.
  • Archive workspace: Owners only. See below.

An Owner can archive a workspace they no longer need. An archived workspace:

  • is hidden from all its members;
  • can’t be opened or changed;
  • takes any public previews of its campaigns offline.

Archiving doesn’t delete anything. To restore an archived workspace, or to have one deleted for good, email [email protected].

Before you archive, export any campaigns you’ll need. Emails you’ve already exported keep working in your ESP, but images from the media library are deleted if the workspace is deleted for good.
