Reviews and approvals
A review request asks particular people to look at a campaign and approve it. You see at a glance who has approved, who has left feedback and who hasn’t looked yet.
Request a review
Section titled “Request a review”- In the campaign editor, click Request review in the top bar.
- Under Reviewers, find people in the workspace, or type an email address to invite someone new. People invited this way join as Viewers, which are free.
- Add a message if you like, such as what they should look at. It’s shown at the top of the comments for each reviewer.
- Choose what else happens:
- Set status to In review is ticked while the campaign is a Draft.
- Also send them a test email sends each reviewer a test, so they can see the email in their own inbox.
- Click Request review.
The dialog shows each step: saving your changes, asking each person (or inviting them as a Viewer), setting the status and sending the test. If a later step fails, Try again carries on from there, so nobody is asked twice.
Each reviewer gets an email with your message and a link that opens the campaign ready for comments. Someone invited by email gets an invitation first, and the review is waiting for them once they’ve joined.
Track reviews
Section titled “Track reviews”Once someone has been asked, a reviews chip appears in the top bar with their avatars and a count such as “1 of 3 approved”. Click it to see each reviewer’s answer:
| Answer | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Approved | They approved the campaign as it is now. |
| Approved before latest edits | They approved it, but it’s been edited since. |
| Left feedback | They’ve commented since being asked. |
| Not reviewed yet | Nothing from them yet. |
Answers are worked out from what reviewers do, so nobody has to remember to update them.
On the Campaigns page, use the Waiting on me filter to find campaigns you’ve been asked to review.
Approve a campaign
Section titled “Approve a campaign”If you’ve been asked to review, an Approve button appears in the top bar.
- Click Approve. A confirmation shows who will be emailed and warns you if you still have open comments of your own.
- Confirm. The button turns green and says Approved.
Changed your mind? Choose Withdraw approval from the button’s menu.
If the campaign is edited after you approve, the button offers Approve again, which records your approval of the latest version.
When you approve, the person who asked you gets an email the first time you do.
When everyone has approved
Section titled “When everyone has approved”Approvals don’t change the campaign’s status by themselves. When every reviewer has approved, the reviews chip offers Set to Approved. See Statuses.
Change who’s reviewing
Section titled “Change who’s reviewing”- Ask someone else: request a review again and add them. Asking someone again starts a new request; their earlier answers stay in the history.
- Take someone off: open the reviews chip and choose Take off the review. If they were invited by email and haven’t joined yet, their invitation is withdrawn too.
- Someone who leaves the workspace stops counting towards the review.
You can’t ask yourself to review.
